Canteen

The “Betriebsrestaurant Max Planck Institut” is located on the Institute's premises at Stübeweg 51 and is open to the public. The canteen has a total capacity of 178 seats, 140 seats inside and 38 seats at the big roof-top terrace.

 

 

The canteen features a diverse menu that provides two distinct dishes each work day, ensuring variety and promoting a balanced diet. The offerings include meat and fish, with a vegetarian option always available and a vegan choice frequently included. The menu is further enhanced by a selection of pasta dishes, soup and a fresh salad buffet provided daily. For beverages, guests can choose from water, coffee, and a variety of soft drinks.

Monday - Friday 11:30 to 14:00

Please note: The canteen is also open to external guests starting June 3, 2024. Access is via the large roof terrace and is signposted.

Lounge (only internal)

The lounge of the MPI-IE was established in October 2008 and is the central meeting point for scientists and visitors alike. It fosters informal and colloquial get-togethers in a relaxed atmosphere and has become a vital part of the institute.

A wide and varied range of breakfast options awaits Institute staff in the lounge. Whether savoury or sweet, sandwiches, pretzels, muesli and fruit salad are available every working day from 8.30 a.m. A variety of coffees and teas round off breakfast in the Max Planck Lounge. In the afternoon, it is self-service time. Employees can enjoy a snack from the well-stocked vending machines or a coffee speciality from the coffee machine.

Breakfast: Monday - Friday 8.30 to 11.30
